What drove you to specialize in both design and UX?
I’ve always gravitated toward design, and I also really like helping people feel seen and understood, so combining design and UX sort of happened naturally. I like thinking holistically about how I can help people find information they need and make websites easy and enjoyable to navigate.
What do you wish more people knew about design/UX?
A lot of people think that designs are just meant to look pretty, but there’s also a lot of functionality considerations that are easily overlooked. Designers can do way more than people might think. And when you combine that with UX, you have to think both creatively and critically and think about how everything will come together to help users.
Do you have any standout projects from over the years?
There are a lot, but it’s always the next project that I’m the most excited about. Working on a new site and being able to create something new for a client is just such an amazing and inspiring experience.
Now for the most important question: You and Caleb both have Corgis, and you’re both involved in web and design. Is there a correlation between Corgi parents and web/design people?
Corgis are very aesthetically pleasing dogs! Even though they have weird proportions. I don’t think it’s entirely unrelated that we both happen to have Corgis…
